BUT

First we start:

We are All
Uniquely You

Thus the assertion,
Of the Eternal Truth:

Unity in Diversity

The Eternal Oneness
That is Infinitely Diverse.

The brightest of the Light,
The darkest of the Dark
And every single in between
Absolutely unique thing
Constituting this One Being.

A Consciousness-Force
In a state of Great Bliss
Experiencing Its Self
As Eternal and Infinite Becomings
For an ever Greater Purpose
In unimaginable limitless worlds.

And on this billions year-old planet
We find perpetual progressive advents
Of countless ever newer species.

And We are All That,
This Soul Being experiencing
This Earth as a human being.

But then why the title BUT?

Because on this Earth's Soul experience
The mental species Homo sapiens,
Transitional as still ego-bound,
Mortal, limited, death-bound,
The definition of undivineness,
Has reached an existential crisis.

The Supramental Consciousness-Force,
Always involved and has fully descended,
Emerging like a Lotus Seed,
A blossoming from the mud,
Is now unstoppably transforming
This universal mental programming
To the Divine Supramental being.

Thus in the Supramental Avatar's Auroville
Clearly stated in its 1968 Charter
Envisioned and created by its founders
Sri Aurobindo and the Mother:

"Auroville belongs to nobody in particular.
Auroville belongs to humanity as a whole."

The fundamental Unity in Diversity.

And then comes the Big BUT...

"But, to live in Auroville, one must be a willing servitor of the Divine Consciousness."

The Definitive Choice
That must be consciously made
By each unique awakening individual
Who from within has discovered
That We are That
Involved in Our Own Play
Of Complementary Opposites
Of Divine, undivine and anti-divine beings.

The Time has finally come
For the Divine's full blossoming.

On this Definitive Choice
A faithful asked the Mother:

"Why is the choice imperative?”

“Because we are at one of the ‘hours of God’ as Sri Aurobindo puts it—and the transforming evolution of the world has taken a hastened and intensified movement.”

And later on She writes
As guidance for the aspiring,
'To Be a True Aurovilian':

"The first necessity is the inner discovery in order to know what one truly is behind social, moral, cultural, racial and hereditary appearances.

At the centre there is a being free, vast and knowing, who awaits our discovery and who ought to become the active centre of our being and our life in Auroville. …

The whole earth must prepare itself for the advent of the new species, and Auroville wants to work consciously to hasten this advent."

Thus stands the decree
Of who We truly are
And the inevitable flowering
Of the Life Divine.

It cannot be more defined.
