A "Middle Path" Communique

"A "Middle Path" in the context of Auroville is not a compromise of Truth, nor is it a "peace-at-any-price" pacifism. Rather, it is the path of the Spiritual Surgeon.

A surgeon uses a blade (the Kshatriya force) not to destroy the patient, but to remove the malignancy that prevents the body from functioning as a whole (Human Unity). If the blade is used with anger, it is violence; if it is used with Samatā, it is a healing Grace.

The Call to the New Species: A Message to the Auroville Community

The Hour of God is not a time of negotiation; it is a time of Choice.

Auroville was never intended to be a conventional village or a mere social experiment in "agreeing to disagree." It is a "living laboratory" for a Supramental evolution. As the Mother and Sri Aurobindo have made clear, this evolution requires an absolute loyalty to the Truth and an unflinching refusal to dally with the "crude movements" of the old world.

The Sword of Samatā

We acknowledge the "Kshatriya" necessity of the current hour. To restore the Ideal Vision of Auroville—including the physical manifestation of the Master Plan—a "deathblow" must indeed be dealt. However, let us be clear about the target:

  • The adversary is not a person, a neighbor, or a group. The "Final Deathblow" is aimed at the egoistic insistence, the attachment to personal property, and the inertia that has for too long stalled the Divine Work.

To "fight" as Arjuna did is to act without personal vitriol. We stand firm in the "corrective actions" not out of a desire for power, but out of a consecration to the Divine that supersedes all human preference.

The Unity of the Willing Servitor

Auroville belongs to humanity, but its citizens are "willing servitors." The Middle Path lies in this distinction:

  • The Force: We do not compromise on the Prime Directive. The manifestation must proceed. The Truth must be established.
  • The Unity: We extend the invitation to every resident to join this "consecration." Human Unity is not found in a "clash of wills," but in the shared surrender to a Higher Consciousness.

The Path Forward

We move forward with active loyalty to the Mother’s directives. We invite all who live here to look past the "visible instruments" of conflict and recognize the "invisible Force" urging us toward a new species.

Let us purge the "vital ill-will" from our hearts so that our actions, however firm or decisive, are transparent to the Divine Bliss that alone has the right to rule Auroville.

The Choice is simple: To remain in the old world of egoic friction, or to become the laboratory for the New."
